BARCELONA are considering a shock swoop for Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe after they failed to land Neymar in the summer, it has been claimed.
The Catalans were hopeful of a reunion with their old forward, 27, but have reportedly grown tired with the difficulty of the deal.
And the Spanish champions will now switch their attention to Mbappe, 20, who has many fans in Barcelona’s board room, according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo.
Neymar – the world’s most expensive player – was desperate to seal a move back to the Nou Camp.
But the Brazilian was forced to put his differences with PSG to one side after the two sides failed to agree a financial package.
Now manager Thomas Tuchel is ready to integrate him back into the starting XI as they prepare to face Racing Strasbourg today.
The French champions had previously whacked an eye-watering £273million price tag on his head.
But rumours of his switch back to Spain reportedly upset many of Barcelona’s staff – with some threatening to quit if he re-signed.

However, with supporters like Lionel Messi and club president Josep Bartomeu, the La Liga champions were certainly keen to get a deal over the line.
But after the summer deal failed, there is now renewed pressure from some on the Barcelona board to attempt to bring in the rising star of world football, Mbappe, during the next transfer window.
While the move makes sense on football terms, the Catalans might have their work cut out as bitter rivals Real Madrid are also said to be lining up a move.
