CONOR MCGREGOR raked in the cash over the last 12 months and earned more than football superstar Neymar, basketball ace LeBron James and tennis talent Roger Federer.
Forbes has published its list of the world’s highest-paid athletes and the Dublin fighter occupies fourth place in the rankings.
The 29-year-old took home an incredible €85million ($99m), with €73m in salary/winnings, largely thanks to his boxing megafight with Floyd Mayweather last August.
€12m came from endorsements as deals with the likes of Burger King, Budweiser and Beats Electronics topped up McGregor’s eye-watering pay packet.
‘Money’ Mayweather lives up to his nickname by topping the list on a whopping €244m.
Barcelona superstar footballer Lionel Messi took home €95million – putting him second on the richlist.
Real Madrid and Portugal football ace Cristiano Ronaldo is third with €93m and Brazil star Neymar is behind McGregor in fifth place, with €77m following his transfer from Barca to PSG.
Ronaldo, 33, visited McGregor in training two years ago when the UFC ace said: “You were No 1 on the Forbes list, I was like No 35 or something. I’ll get up. Maybe next year I’ll get you.”
To which Ronaldo, who reportedly earns €400,000 a week, laughed: “I don’t think so.”
McGregor has ground to make up on the Portuguese star and his UFC future could depend on the outcome of a June 14 court date in New York.
The Dubliner was arrested after he attacked a bus – with lightweight rival Khabib Nurmagomedov on board – before UFC 223 in Brooklyn in April.
UFC boss Dana White is set to meet with the promotion’s cash-cow in Las Vegas to discuss his fight future.
He said: “Conor and I are going to meet in Vegas.
