FORMER Ireland international Damien Duff has slammed Brazlian star Neymar’s antics after their surprise 1-1 draw against Switzerland on Sunday.
Dubliner Duff was not happy with the PSG player as he previewed the Samba Boy’s next round game against Costa Rica in the RTÉ studios on Tuesday.
Duff tore into Neymar claiming the £200m player’s style-of-play had a detrimental effect on Brazil’s tactics against the Swiss.
Duff said: “I haven’t liked him this season. I don’t like the way he plays.
“He’s selfish, he plays for himself. I know the French public haven’t enjoyed watching him. There’s too much showboating for me.
“You look at Ronaldo and Messi, they’re the best. They look to kill every time.”
Brazil take on Costa Rica on Friday aiming for a win after a disappointing display against Switzerland.
Philippe Coutinho’s early strike gave Brazil the perfect start – but a second-half header from Steven Zuber meant the points were shared in the Rostov Arena.
And Duff reckons Neymar’s antics on the ball cost Tite’s side against the Swiss.
The pundit said: “You look at him the other night against Switzerland, numerous times just looking to attract three of four players over just to build his skills compilation on YouTube!
“He is so much better than that, he’s utterly world class.
“But he won’t win the Ballon d’Or in the French league.”

Duff even reckons that the former Barcelona is showing up to the cameras after footage emerged of him limping out of training.
“He’ll be fit for Costa Rica on Wednesday!
“He likes the show being all about him, the picture of going off the training pitch today – he is grand!”
